Peeta and Johanna have been captured and taken back to the Capitol. District 12 has been burnt to the ground, the only remaining survivors following Gale Hawthorne to District 13. The rebellion has taken on a whole new importance: it now has an organised force behind it. Everyone continues to try to persuade Katniss Everdeen to become 'The Mockingjay', someone who can spur support for the resistance, but Peeta is imprisoned in the Capitol. For the first time since that first reaping she has to do this alone.
