CALEB JAY IERIE THE BASIC INFORMATION FULL NAME Caleb Jay Ierie (ear-ee) NICKNAMES Cal, Callie GENDER Male AGE & BIRTH Twenty four, September 11 SEXUALITY Homosexual CLASS Middle PLAYED BY Brenden Urie THE PERSONALITY The person Caleb was and the person Caleb is now would never in a million years talk to each other. The person Caleb was would be envious of who Caleb is, but never think he would turn out to be this man. This happy man with confidence and happiness and a boyfriend to boot. Caleb changed his entire outlook on life s he went through life in college, far outside the judging eyes of Caroline. He bloomed with a sureness of himself that he never had before. Caleb knew who he was, who he wanted to be. Always passionate about school. Caleb often works hard in his jobs and in his life. He hates to leave things half done, not do his best, or worse, laze around and do nothing. For a day to be good, it needs to be productive. It's hard for him to leave anything he truly loves, but if he has any mediocre feelings towards something, its harder. If that is the case however, Caleb will work at it until he does love it. He does strive for something a little too close to perfection, finding it hard to accept flaws as natural. Caleb tries to be happy. He enjoys his life, he knows he has been lucky so far in the things that have happened to him. Caleb can be sweet, and romantic. In fact, he admits to being a little bit of a hopeless romantic. Even in college, he never wanted a fling, but gravitated towards more grounded relationships, with actual emotions. He was more in love with the idea of being in love, then actually just loving the person. The boys he dated wouldn't live up to his expectations, and he always felt he loved them more. Of course, he would never break of a relationship, always taking whatever the other threw at him. He took the bad things they did, anything bad that happened to him, and thought of it as what he deserved. It wasn't unfair, his childhood had been s good to him, the bad things were bound to happen sometimes. Even when one of his boyfriends cheated on him over and over, Caleb let it happen. Far too self-sacrificing, it's obvious Caleb doesn't know how to deal with the things that hurt him. FAMILY TIES & HISTORY MOTHER Erika Lee Ierie FATHER Tory William Ierie SIBLINGS None OTHER Oliver Rhys Cardinal (boyfriend) STORY In a world without problems, you create your own. Any small problem turns into something much larger, because you have nothing else to place it against, nothing worse to teach you how to cope. Caleb Ierie's life wasn't perfect, no one has a scar free past. He did live a charmed life though. Somehow, everything turned out right for him. His friends would call him rabbit's foot, because he was lucky. People would win events, prizes, draws, only if he was around though. He had an uncanny ability for guessing numbers for games. Though his parents were strict, they always let him do what he wanted. He was the only child Tory and Erika Ierie could have, and even then it was a miracle. The doctor's had told Caleb's mother it was nearly impossible for her to have a child naturally, yet they managed. Because of this, they had guilt that Caleb couldn't have siblings, and often spoiled him because of it. For the longest time, the only bad things that happened to Caleb were his parents fighting and his grandfather dying. Of course, a lonely boy with no one to talk to will often turn to inward thinking, and Caleb's thoughts were never bright. He never knew how to deal with his problems, and never did. Because of this, he became more and more shy at school. He would talk to his friends about his issues, but rarely. He felt he was inconveniencing them with his non-existent problems. It was why no one knew when his parents nearly broke up. Caleb convinced himself he could deal with these things by himself, and although it hurt, he did. Secrets were his life. He enjoyed telling lies, because why would his friends not trust him? It was so easy. Knowing himself, however, was not easy. It was in middle school that Caleb liked his first boy. Before then, emotions such as this had been confusing. He knew he should like girls, he would look at them and try, but the boys always caught his attention. Maybe this one wasn't his first crush, but it was the first he admitted to himself. Oliver Cardinal was outwardly gay, confident, and everything Caleb wasn't. Even though the kids made fun of Oliver, he never backed down. Caleb would have crashed and burned under their words. Caleb was enamoured with this boy since his second year of middle school, and it was one crush that never went away. He refused to tell anyone but his best friend, but as the years went on and Oliver changed, so did Caleb. He grew more confident, learning about life, figuring things out. He didn't want to be alone anymore, he didn't want to not deal with his problem. Truthfully, he wanted to be like Oliver. And Caleb felt like he needed to change. So, he did. At the age of eighteen for a college on the east coast of Canada. He felt like he needed to get away from the small town, broaden his horizons. Since Caleb was young, he'd wanted to go into law, for some reason. While other boys were preparing to be scientists and fire fighters he would watch law shows at home with eager eyes. He prepared through school, throwing himself into school work, partly to avoid his problems and his obsession with a certain boy. His parents, though middle class, supported him through his schooling, with help from the many scholarships Caleb granted himself. He stayed at the college, and eventually moved onto a law school. After five years however, he had to head back to Caroline. At the beginning of that year, the doctors had found a strange lump in Caleb's mothers body. His parents assured him it was nothing, that he should stay in school. It took a few month for the doctors to determine what the lump was. They were the most nerve wracking months of Caleb’s school years, but he threw himself into his work even more than before. Finally, his father called him with the news that it was just a benign tumour. It could turn malignant, but for now, they were safe. Relived, he decided to go to Caroline for the summer to be close with his parents/ Caleb had changed during college. Like many said you do while you are in school, he found himself. He became comfortable with his sexuality. Coming out with his parents was interesting, but he knew they were okay with it when his mother sent him a bright pink birthday card with the words 'this was in the 'birthday for her section'. Thought it fit”, printed on the inside. He tried relationships, and though he still felt himself attached to Oliver, it seemed like such a childish dream. Being dragged from the maritimes ruined all of that though, he didn't want to deal with a long distance relationship. He left Caroline still very much an introvert, unsure, a geek. He came back confident, happy, ready to take on anything that came at him. Unless, of course, it was his old crush Oliver. Caleb could tell you exactly the moment he saw Ollie, the thoughts that came to his head, the old familiar clench in his heart. To him, this was the first boy he ever loved, the one who made him, well, Caleb. But a picture is always more pretty than the real thing. They became friends, after Caleb plucked up the courage to talk to Oliver. It wasn't as nerve racking as he'd thought. Oliver did turn out to be a real person, a sweetheart with a loud mouth. It wasn't long before they were dating. Caleb had never been happier. He didn't return to the east fr the rest of his schooling, putting it on hold, telling himself he needed a break. However, as wonderful things were, Oliver turned out to be Caleb’s biggest dilemma in life.
