⒈mirela's father moved her family from tirana, albania, when she was still an infant; as an upstanding political ambassador, they've spent a lot of time traveling around for his work and only recently did they settle here in caroline.
⒉the past few years have been difficult on mirela due to a developed eating disorder. it put her weight in the danger zone; it left her frazzled and desperate for control; and for a while, it bounced her between rehabilitation centers. now on the shaky road to recovery, she is doing her best not to relapse.
⒊mirela's mother is the one who instilled the thin, thinner, and thinner still mantra inside of her; and much of what mir does is an attempt to make sure she does not turn into the hot-and-cold woman her mother had become even in the earlier years of her life. she strives to be patient, and kind, and to keep things under control - the stress of which might have been why she went down the road she did.
