NATHANIEL JAMES KASTRA THE BASIC INFORMATION FULL NAME Nathaniel James Kastra NICKNAMES Nathan, now goes by Charlie Niels GENDER Male AGE & BIRTH Twenty, December 26th 1991 SEXUALITY Straight CLASS Lower Class PLAYED BY Dallas Harder THE PERSONALITY Everyone has their secrets, the things they like to keep to themselves. Some people though, some people like to keep their entire life to themselves. Either they're really private, or they have something huge to hide. Nathan, well Nathan just doesn't like questions. Or should we say Charlie? When Nathan was young, he was meek, shy, careful. Generally, he was a weak boy, someone who could be stepped on and stepped over. Now, well now he still holds his tongue, but he's different. There's a flicker in his eyes, a twist to his head, that seems wrong . Anyone who knew Nathan in the past would barely recognize him now. They do say that a persons attitude reflects in how they act though. While in juvie, Nathan changed. He always understood people, but his young mind had no ideas to what reaches he did. He could read people like the books his nose was always in, or was. As much as he took books to be his only source of solace back when he was young, the wonder of them seems to have been lost. Perhaps it was because he was forced to grow up, or they hold too much of his past in their pages. Despite this, he still cares for books, owning a small used book store in his new home in Caroline. With his ability to read people, he can also manipulate them, like a game of chess, its all about strategy. He used this to his advantage in juvenile hall, but now that he's out, he hates what he can do to people. It would be so easy for Nathan to turn into the bully, torture the kids that tortured him, turn his world around. He has the desire too, his thoughts are often dark and clouded with his nightmares, but he holds back. Some part of him, the little kid that was pushed and punched into a corner strives for Nathan to be good. He has his quiet side, the man you see in the store that you stay away from for some reason, one you can't point out, but you just watch him from afar, wondering about him. He seems so normal. He can be sweet, but usually now he won't deal with bullshit, theirs no more beating around the bush for him. Nathans not someone you'd mess with, just to look at, nor want to. There's no real telling when he may snap again, now is there? FAMILY TIES & HISTORY MOTHER Elen Lee Kastra FATHER James Michael Royal (missing) SIBLINGS Elias Kellin Kastra, Calliope Jenn Kastra (half siblings) OTHER Jaquiline Heart Kennedy (old friend, moved away) STORY Anyone who knows the history of Caroline heard of the shooting about six years prior to now. Which is a lot of people in the small town, seeing as no one ever leaves. Well, no one but those spare few. The school shooting was the second biggest headline in the history of the otherwise cuddly town. The murder of Rebecca was first, but it even seemed the shooting was worse, with the attention paid. But of course, that’s the way the world works, isn't it? One girl gets killed, no big deal. A school gets 'shot out' and one boy dies and a few other simply get traumatized and the whole state freaks out. Of course, the single boy dieing was the official story. The rumours were much more gruesome. Anything from the killer committing suicide to him having an accomplice and having a massive stand off against the principal and an entire squat team raged fires during the time of the shooting. No one really knew what happened for the longest time. No one had seen the shooter, no one could think of who would do something like this. The lines were dying until one day, a young boy came to the police and confessed to being the shooter. That boy was Nathaniel Kastra. There was a commotion after that, of court cases, social workers, media vans and angry citizens everywhere. The Kastra family was known well for making violence in the town. The mother was a well known failure and her children – not much better. Elijah was constantly causing problems and Calli, well she just had a big mouth and a worse attitude. With all this hub-bub, Nathan fell into the background. People rarely knew he existed. When the media was released, after the court cases, that he was indeed the killer, people started to say they knew it. It had to have been a Kastra. They were completely willing to throw Nathan to the dogs, just because of his heritage. The young boy was sent off to Juvi, and Caroline eventually fell quiet once more. No one wondered why Nathan shot out the school, a few whispers went around, but generally, after six years, the stories faded to dust, just as did the name of Nathan. It was a chilling tale, and one the town covered up just as happily as the murder of Rebecca. Of course, there's always a story behind a tragedy. Nathan was a notorious bookworm. A contradictory statement, but for anyone who knew him well, he was never without his nose stuffed in a novel of sorts. Despite his upbringing, Nathan was bright, he'd been pulled ahead a few grades in school. He had no friends, no family really. He was also a huge bully target in school. Always small for his age, Nathan was quiet honestly the perfect target. He never fought back, or told anyone. He took the pain in silence, holding it within himself, going to his books for salvation. Who can really blame the boy, when the bullies weren't the only ones who used him as a literal punching bag? As it turns out, his mothers boyfriend, a drunkard, was also taking his frustrations out on Nathan. This he took as well, and the only ones who knew were the Kastras, and the one and only friend Nathan had, but even she couldn't save him. Eventually, everything got to him and he snapped. After four years in juvie, Nathan was released. The boy was eighteen and, with a few psychological visits, could legally leave his prison. The boy, now a changed young man, had no plans of ever setting foot in Caroline. Unable to cross any provincial bordered though, he simply went of to live in Calgary, Alberta, planning on fading into the large city. He was set up in a half-way home of sorts, set up with a small job that didn't mind his small criminal record. He was encouraged to go to school, but the lure of books seemed to have fallen out of him, though he still had a small shelf above his bed with a few books on them. After two year though, the young man was kicked out of the home, set to live by himself. It only took him a month to realize how terrifying the city was alone, although he was used to it and loved being able to meld in. The job he had was not enough, and his money was dwindling. All it took was one night, one haunting night, to chase him back home, no matter how much he swore he would never go there again. Six months ago, Nathan moved to Caroline, though no one can say for sure why. His psychologist was closer to the small town, but there seems to be something more to it. The man set up a small used bookstore in the front room of his house, and under an alias was able to get a job at a grocery store across town. So far, with little involvement with others, he hadn't been recognized, but it's really a matter of time. And it seems Nathan has more on his mind than just leading a quiet life just down the street from the haunting presence of his old home. ALL ABOUT YOU ALIAS HEATHER THE PIRATE.
