AISLYNN TEAGAN ROESCH THE BASIC INFORMATION FULL NAME Aislynn Teagan Roesch NICKNAMES Ais GENDER Female AGE & BIRTH Twenty-three & December 11, 1988 SEXUALITY Straight CLASS Middle class PLAYED BY Kim Noorda THE PERSONALITY KIND || The young woman excels in offering optimism and kindness for others. When she hears of another’s woes, she’s quick to respond with encouragement, and she readily offers compliments to those who are low in confidence. There’s always a ray of hope to be found except when she’s the one stuck with the situation. She’s like a safe harbor for those who have been tossed by the tempest, but she’s vulnerable when the tempest arrives and she’s forced to face it herself. She’s unable to protect herself and often finds herself depending on others to keep her afloat. DEPENDENT || Aislynn has never been the strongest girl around and finds that strength is not something easily gained. Nevertheless, she hates appearing overly weak and needy in front of others. She finds that she’s only comfortable revealing all her flaws around those who know her well enough to pick up on all the subtle changes in her moods without saying so. However, even then, she tries to remain close-lipped as long as possible. She doesn’t like to dwell on negativity if she can help it, and sharing her inner turmoil makes her feel as if she’s resurrecting thoughts she’d rather keep buried deep and neglected. UNHAPPY || Full of fake smiles and self-doubt, Aislynn isn’t exactly the happiest person in the world. While she had a considerably comfortable childhood, the latest few chapters in her life have been considerably discouraging. She feels rather lost in life, as if everything she had ever known is in tatters and she needs to restart from square one. Much of this is attributed to the fact that her parents had been overprotective before simply throwing her to the wolves. A long streak of misfortune that followed her newly found push towards independence has her stumbling in the dark, wondering where she’s supposed to go and what she’s supposed to do. She’s stuck in a rut, and she sometimes wishes someone would offer a helping hand. DEDICATED || Childish as it may seem, Ais has always dreamt of finding a prince charming or a knight in shining armor. As a result, she’s fully committed to the idea of investing a lot in a relationship. She’s only had a handful of boyfriends, but it’s enough to help her realise that fairytales don’t often come true. After a few too many tears shed, relationships aren’t really her top priority. She feels rather jaded, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t occasionally feel envious when she spots a happy couple nearby. The most recent of her relationships ended rather badly, and she’s walked away with the lesson that she should guard her heart. DESTRUCTIVE || When one keeps everything all pent up, an outlet of some sort will inevitably be needed. Aislynn has a bad habit of running away from her problems and keeping her frustration all pent up until everything overflows. She tries to keep in control, but once she feels everything unravel, she locks herself up in the privacy of her home and throws a violent fit. Sometimes those fits are alcohol fueled even though she doesn’t drink regularly, and she’ll throw and break things until she feels calmer. FAMILY TIES & HISTORY MOTHER Amira Eve Clarke-Roesch FATHER Dean Noah Roesch SIBLINGS None OTHER None STORY It was the typical tale of a typical girl in some small community. The protagonist was sweet and naive, her parents were loving and overprotective, and everyone thought she would grow up and get married to some nice boy. They would have a nice, nuclear family, and they would pass the rest of their days with a cliche sort of happiness that was drab but comfortable. Unfortunately, life was never all that simple or predictable. After reading a few too many parenting books, Amira and Dean opted for unintentional overprotection in order to raise their daughter in the best conditions possible. They wanted their baby girl to grow up happy, and they wanted her to enjoy a bright future. She was sheltered from the harsh realities of life and grew up carefreely. The most troubling matters she ever faced had to do with mismatched clothes, petty arguments with friends, and receiving mixed signals from boys she liked. Life was served to her on a silver platter, and ignorance truly was bliss. One would think that she’d wake up from this dream a little when she arrived in high school. It was, after all, drama central. It should have been preparation for the real world, considering she was surrounded by a mixture of people with varying personalities. Some were fake, manipulative, ambitious, honest, well-meaning, sympathetic, or a mixture of those traits. However, the microcosm of reality failed to prepare her. Though her parents gave her much more freedom, she surrounded herself with a set of good friends and hid away from bad influences. In her eyes, life was good for everyone. By the time she turned eighteen, her parents believed she was all grown up and needed to learn independence through experience. If there was another thing they picked up from the numerous parenting books they read, it was that although letting go of one's child was difficult, it was a necessary step in parenthood. She would always be their little girl, but she couldn’t live at home and rely on them forever. After reassuring her that she was well-prepared, they allowed her to stay home, but under certain conditions. She was to pay a certain portion of the bills, similar to what she would have to do if she left home and rented an apartment. She would have to get whatever she wanted or needed through her own means. In order to strengthen their resolution and decrease the chance that they would waver and be lenient, they decided to make travelling plans. They made the necessary preparations before leaving her to her own devices, telling her that she could call them if need be. For a little while, being on her own felt alright. She wasn’t depressed, per say, but she was light years away from being blissfully happy. Without her parents to direct her on what to do and where to go, she felt like life was a huge maze that she was circling through. She was going through the motions of life with no real destination. There was the occasional relationship to keep her love life active, she had friends to keep her from feeling lonely, and she held a nice part time job at a clothing store that gave her a steady income. Sometimes it was hard to juggle work and college, but it was bearable. Unfortunately, this was comfortable in comparison to the later portion of her life. The source of all her troubles? A boy who turned her life upside down. Like every other cliche in her life, the moment she met Trevor Ashbury, there was a spark. Within a few weeks of getting to know each other better, he asked her out, and she was ecstatic. They were happy together for the first few years of their relationship, even if there was an occasional bump in the road. She was often worried that someone would steal away his affections, and she would feel insecure whenever she saw another girl hanging around him. He was possessive and hated when other guys hit on her even though he was often flirty towards other girls. They balanced each other out and he made her feel like her life was finally going in a specific direction, but it seemed things weren’t quite so simple when they broke up for the first time. He had dropped by to spend quality time with her after work, and they spoke while she prepared dinner. They somehow arrived onto the topic about the prospective future of their relationship. she expressed the desire to see something more serious in the future, and he expressed uncertainty. It wasn’t long before they got in a screaming match and he stormed out of her house, slamming the door behind him. The next day, he called her and they got back together. They were an on-again-off-again couple from then on. They fought and broke up for the silliest of reasons, and in the blink of an eye, they were together again. The routine couldn’t keep going on forever. He eventually met another girl who liked him. She was crude and rough around the edges, but she was the determined and straightforward type who wouldn’t give up on getting something she wanted until the very end. Trouble seemed to follow her everywhere, and he was by her side all the time, ready to help and rescue her. Seeing their relationship grow and thrive made Aislynn grow antsy, and she hoped that being less stubborn when talking to him would keep him by her side. Her plan failed because he continued to cancel plans in order to spend time with this other girl. Several months later, she had enough of constantly feeling uneasy. Upset, she confronted him and questioned if he liked the other girl over her. When he didn’t answer immediately, she broke off the relationship and ignored his calls. It wasn’t until a week later that she finally agreed to see him again, and when she did, he immediately proposed, reassuring her that she was the one he loved. It was a pleasant surprise considering he had always been the one to shy away from talks about forever, and she happily accepted, believing that she would feel more secured and self-assured this time around. She was disappointed to find that he continued to spend quite a bit of time with the other girl, using their engagment ring as an excuse to reassure her she had nothing to worry about. Nevertheless, she accepted that they were close and turned a blind eye from the fact that their relationship was rapidly deteriorating, but then came along the event that instigated their final break-up. On his birthday, she decided to drop by uninvited in hopes of surprising him. She was the one surprised when she found that the other girl was at his doorstep already, having a quiet discussion. She hid by the corner of the wall and eavesdropped, hoping for a confirmation of whether or not she and Tristan would last, and she was disappointed when she saw that he didn’t push the girl away when she kissed him. In tears, she stepped out and returned their engagement ring and told him she never wanted to see him. Though she had never been the type to strongly stick to decisions, she found that she couldn’t bring herself to put any more commitment in a failing relationship. When she ignored his attempts to contact her, he eventually gave up, and she was disappointed he didn’t try something extravagant to win her back. However, it was expected. He could never let go of the other girl, even if it was for her sake, and Ais simply couldn’t feel secure knowing that he would rush to another’s side while leaving her alone at any moment. Since then, she’s recovered for the most part and acts with more caution, now aware that relationships should not be the first priority in her life. There are times when she looks back and reminisces, but those times are increasingly far and in between. She’s back to the starting point in the game called life, and she has to start all over. She finds it to be rather disheartening that she’s back to square one, unsure of where she is and where she wants to be. In retrospect, she probably shouldn’t have depended on a single relationship as a guide to where to go in life, but it’s a bit too late for regret now.
